Lent is here

Wow - it has been a while. I am currently broke due to someone stealing all of my money from my checking and savings account...They got a hold of my bank card # somehow. Prayerfully the bank will be able to get it back soooon.

This year for lent I am adding something rather than taking away - a little thing that Elizabeth taught me about. :) I began to pray about it and immediately sensed that God wanted me to commit to a devotional everyday. This was quickly confirmed as that day I had "accidentally" received two of the devotional books that Shiloh sent out - and one of the envelopes also had 2 letters in it...I also received in the mail a package from my mom. She was returning Denny's "Forever Plaid" DVD but when I opened the envelope, out poured 5 or 6 little devotional guides. Hahahahaha! I said "Ok, Ok...I will DEFINITELY do the devotionals during lent." He knows I always need confirmation!

We are doing the Kingdom Journey with VWS. First week was last week. It is a 6 week series. We are supposed to fast from something that takes more "authroity" in our lives than it should and I chose to cut out the internet except for 1 hour a day. It has been nice because I realize I don't need to spend nearly as much time as I do on it to get stuff done and even enjoy the fringe thibgs like MySpace and chat. The first day I had a half hour left over that I could put toward the next day. I am also fasting on Wednesdays - and praying about marriage and other things. These spiritual disciplines have a funny way of shaking things loose. Imagine that! Yesterday I did the global fast. That one was hard because I didnt break the fast until almost 9pm. Usually I break it at sundown. I was getting light headed and cranky. :(

OK...that is my update...Dont wanna spend too much time here...wanna be able to e-mail at dinner. :)

H.
